I just completed this fun, colorful fabric fairy house.  I designed the fairy house from a pattern designed by fiber/fantasy artist, Julie McCullough.  I modified the pattern to create this 12" tall house, where the original pattern is for a 22" fairy house.  I added one of my fabric sculpted butterflies and Swarovski crystals as accents.  The tiny little fiber sculpted fairy is my own original design. This creation (fairy house and fairy) will be soon available at the BLUE HERON GALLERY in Port Washington, WI where I am currently showing my work, or you may contact me personally at dzfairies@msn.com 

She measures approximately 2.5" long from her bent up legs to her elbows, and is about 2" high from her elbows to the top of her head.

I will be creating several more of these fabric fairy houses and the little fairies to go with them.  If anyone is interested in "special ordering" a set, please feel free to contact me for further information.

The fairies can also be created as sitting fairies, such as the tiny fairy shown below.

The sitting fairy measures about 3" tall from her "seat" to the top of her head, and fits nicely sitting in the door of the house.  I've also styled the house so that it could be hung as a mobile, if you didn't want it sitting on a table or shelf.

This tiny fairy measures only 2.75" high and is the smallest of my sitting style fairies.  If anyone is interested in "special ordering" a tiny fairy of this size, please feel free to contact me at dzfairies@msn.com. The fairy house is a pattern from Julie McCullough. The fairy house shown in the photo above was given to me by a friend, and I added the handmade flowers and fabric butterfly.  I just received the pattern, and will be creating several of these quilted fairy houses along with tiny little fairies to coordinate with the fabrics of the house.

This size fairy also looks cute sitting on a hand-carved mushroom designed from a root.

Here she is sitting in the palm of my hand.  A fairy this size sells for $42.00.

These wee fairies would make a sweet addition to any fairy collection. I will also be creating them laying down.  I would be happy to send fabric and hair samples in your choice of colors, etc. either via mail or email.

The past several weeks I've been doing some investigating on where to place some adverts "on line" or in "FAERIE magazines" to advertise my  fiber fantasy creations.

I was amazed to find that there are a lot of "Faerie Festivals" going on throughout the world!  While I thought most of them were held in the UK, I was happy to find that the USA and other countries also hold these magical events!

Dancing RAINBOW FAIRY....! She's sure to make you smile!

Dancing Rainbow Fairy!

I just finished this colorful little RAINBOW Fairy, and thought I'd share her.  She is really sweet and colorful, and one can't help but smile when you look at her. 

It was a rather gloomy, cloudy day when I started working on her, and as she can into "being", she brightened my day.

Lately, I've been admiring all the lovely lucite flower earrings, which I've been seeing in Etsy shops, so I decided to order some of these beads and use them as accents for my fairies.  You can see how I used them in the photos above and below.

ABOUT THE PRIZE;

These "fairy face" pins are my own original designs. Each face is 100% silk fabric, which I individually handdraw, needlesculpt and handpaint. Their hairdos are made from a wide variety of designer yarns and are accented with silk flowers, Swarovski crystals and glass beads. The face and the pin's clasp are cemented to a circular piece of brass. Eac pin takes approximately 2 hours to complete. They make fun, colorful accents, and are great gift ideas.

Lately, I've been attracted to jungle print fabrics, and have started a new series of JUNGLE FAIRIES/SPIRITS. This laying Jungle leopard is the second in this series. My first was my Jungle Spirit Wall Accent, which is listed out in my DZFANTASY shop on Etsy.

A "WHIMSICAL KNITTING" FAIRY!

I've beeen working on this delightful knitting fairy for the last several days before I finally finished her today!! You wouldn't believe how long it took me to knit the start of the teeny, tiny scarf using the pair of needles I made for her. Did you ever try to knit with tiny toothpick needles!! I must say...it was quite a challenge!


I also made her the tiny knitting bag with the Swarovski crystal handle, so she could put her balls of yarn in there for safe keeping as she knits. The bag is fabric, which I then hand-painted a sparkling lavender color, and added the Swarovski crystal handle. A very magical bag, perfect for a fairy knitter!

Her bag can be displayed as show in the above photo, or you can set it up on the box next to the fairy!

The fairy comes sitting on the wooden, hand-painted "keepsake" box, and the box's handle supports the fairy sitting on the box. The fairy is NOT attached to the box, but needs to be displayed sitting on the box.

The box makes a wonderful little "keepsake" box, where you can store your treasures with the fairy as guardian! Below is a photo of the inside of the box. I created a tiny cushion for the inside of the box, using the same fabric as the fairy's body/wings.

She was such fun to design and create, and she is hoping she will find a good home in which to spread her fairy magic.

ABOUT THE "FAIRY FACE" PIN: These pins are my own original designs, and each one is created invidually be me. The face is 100% silk fabric, which I hand draw, needle-sculpt, and hand-paint. The face is stuffed with acrylic fiberfill. Her hairdo was designed from an Italian yarn, which has a texture of wispy "eyelash" and "poofs" of color. It sparkles for a very magical look. Perfect fairy hair!! In her hair she is wearing several 4mm Swarovski crystals, and also an 8mm Swarovski crystal.

Now you can wear a fairy whereever you go! You will be sure to receive a lot of compliments.

Now...a bit about the fairy! She is one of my wall style fairies, measuring approximately 10.5" tall from the tip of her toes to the top of her fluffy hairdo. She is my own original design, and created individually be me.

Her face is 100% silk, which I individually hand-drew, needle-sculpted and hand-painted.

Her body wing fabric is a fun, colorful batik fabric, with all different colored "hearts" in the design. She is posed to stay in her current position, however, since her arms have inner wire armatures, you can move those up or down a bit.

Her colorful hairdo was designed from a wispy, long "eyelash" style yarn, and is accented with a silk flower and Swarovski crystals. Her other accents are Swarovski crystals accenting the lavender heart on her chest, a waist accent of hearts and Swarovski crystals, crystals on the tip of each toe, and a silk flower and crystals in the center back of her wings.

She is one fun fairy, who will be making her home with the lucky winner of this "October Giveaway"!

I can't believe I managed to finish her, as I've been very busy getting together a huge list of more Etsy artists, who will be featured out here in the coming weeks. I just finished her today, and thought I'd bring her out here, so you can see what else I've been up to.

She was such fun to create, and is full of sparkle! She is wearing a lot of Swarovski crystals, and even has one in her "belly button". She has butterfly shaped wings, and measures 4" tall from her "seat" to the top of her fluffy hairdo! I hope she finds a good home before I get too attached to her!

Here's was a sneak preview of the beginnings of the FREE GIVE-A-WAY gift for JUNE out here on my DZFANTASY blog! She is going to be one of my original designed 6.5" tall wall style fairies. Her body/wing fabric is one of Laurel Burch's whimsical designs. I'm thinking that this yarn will make her a beautiful, fluffy hairdo. This colorful little fairy is the smallest of my wall style creations. She measures 6.5" tall from the tip of her toes to the tip of her wings. Her face is 100% silk, which I hand-drew, needle-sculpted, and hand-painted. Her arms and wings have inner wire armatures so that you may bend them a bit.. She is designed to hang on the wall, or to dangle from a bit of ribbon or clear fishing line. There is a loop on the back of her neck for this purpose. Her body wing fabric is one of Laurel Burch's whimsical designs. She is accented with Swarovski crystals, and colorful glass seed beads. Her hairdo was designed from a wonderful Italian designer yarn, with a texture of wisps and colorful loops.

This tiny fairy is NOT suitable for children to play with....it is great however, to decorate their rooms. There are too many tiny accents on the fairy to be safe for children under age 8.
