FEATURED ETSY SHOP - BluKatDesign by Heather

(CLICK on item's title above to learn more about it.)

WELCOME, Heather and her Etsy shop BlueKatDesign.  Heather designs some very stunning and gorgeous "upcycled vintage and modern jewelry"!  You really must pay a visit to BlueKatDesign after you read Heather's interview below.  Her jewelry designs are truly amazing.

What led you to start creating your art/craft?

I have been a jeweler for over 35 years and doing it professionally for over 30. I had some vintage items so naturally wanted to make something out of them. I discovered this was a lot of fun so I decided to make more to sell.

(CLICK on the item's title above to see more of these delightful earrings!)

How did you decide what medium you wanted to work with?

This is what I have been doing since high school!

What aspect of creating your art/craft do you find the most enjoyable?

Creating a fun fashionable piece out of a clunky old earring or a pretty vintage flower that is unique, totally wearable and in style today!

(CLICK on item's title above to learn more about this stunning necklace!)

If you had to choose a fruit OR a vegetable, to describe your art/craft, what would you choose, and why?

Fruit; colorful like a vintage flower!

If you had to choose one other medium in which to display your "creativity", what would that be and why?

Miniatures; I also make dollhouse miniatures or paint.

(CLICK on item's title above to learn more about this gorgeous necklace!)

What message, if any, do you want to convey with your art/craft?

I think people like to wear something different, unique and one of a kind and make their own statement!

What advice do you have for other artists/crafters?

Make and sell what you love.

Thanks, Heather, for giving us an insight into your thoughts/ideas and sharing your beautiful jewelry with us.

Aqua "Sea Nymph on her magical fish"...!

Aqua Sea Nymph on her Magical Fish
She was sold today, and will be on her way to her new home !

I finally finished her!  I've had her magical fish finished for a while now, but just couldn't get going on the nymph.  She is light and airy looking in her tones of aqua, which are enhanced with over 100+ Swarovski crystal accents.  Sewing on all the crystals by hand took me quite a few hours in itself.

She is designed to hang as a mobile and will twirl and sparkle!

To learn more about her, visit her in my DZFANTASY shop on Etsy

FEATURED ETSY SHOP - HOLLY BY GOLLY

(CLICK on title above to learn more about this item)

If you are looking for fun, colorful, original designed greeting cards and gifts, then you will want to be sure to pay a visit to HollyByGolly on Etsy!!  This fun shop is run by a delightful artist named, Holly.  You will find whimsical cards such as the one shown above along with colorful magnets and more!

First, take time to read Holly's interview below, where she tells us in her own words how she got started making her HollyByGolly creations.

What led you to start creating your art/craft?

I was working an insane amount of hours at my day job and I needed a creative outlet. I’ve always been interested in paper crafts, pens, markers, etc. and have been a creative soul since I was a child. Once I created my first card I was hooked.

How did you decide what medium you wanted to work with?

I love to draw/doodle and I love paper. Making cards seemed like a natural choice. The glass gem idea came later when I want to add a little something, but I didn’t want it to be a typical embellishment.

(CLICK on title above to learn more about this item)

What aspect of creating your art/craft do you find the most enjoyable?

My most enjoyable aspect is when I put colored ink to paper. When my pencil sketch pops with color.

(CLICK on the above title to learn more about this item)

If you had to choose a fruit OR a vegetable, to describe your art/craft, what would you choose, and why?

All of them, because I try to make my cards and magnets very colorful.

If you had to choose one other medium in which to display your “creativity”, what would that be, and why?

Probably paint, because it is easy to apply and you can paint virtually any item.

(CLICK on title above to learn more about this item)

What message, if any, do you want to convey with your art/craft?

Fun. Everyone loves to get a card in the mail. Even if you’re not a card sender yourself, my cards make card giving fun. My motto is, “Things that are fun to give… and receive.”

What advice do you have for other artists/crafters?

Don’t try to create when you’re tired or angry. It rarely comes out right. If you must do something, work on ideas, sketches, etc. Nothing you are expecting to “put out there”.

Thanks, Holly, for sharing your delightful creations with everyone.  They make you feel good just looking at them!!

(CLICK on item's title to learn more about it)

WELCOME, Luna and her Etsy shop BURNING MOON.  At BURNING MOON, you will find a delightful selection of one-of-a-kind jewelry creations, such as the beautiful Butterfly Pendant above, along with other jewlery items and accessories.

Take a moment to read Luna's interview below to see what motivated her to get started in her artistic venture.

What led you to start creating your art/craft?

I have been crafting since I was a child It makes me happy knowing that you can make someone just as happy giving them a unique hand made gift compared to a store bought gift that hundreds of others will be getting as well.

(CLICK on item's title above to learn more about it)

How did you decide what medium you wanted to work with?

I work with pretty much everything. I love arts & crafts in general, but I mainly sell jewelry. It is the easiest and the most fun for me to make.

What aspect of creating your art/craft do you find the most enjoyable?

I love creating jewelry because I know that the person wearing it will love it as well as the people around the person wearing it. Plus, most of my products are one of a kind so that person will be the only one in the world with that exact piece.

(CLICK on item's title above to learn more about them)

If you had to choose a fruit OR a vegetable, to describe your art/craft, what would you choose, and why?

I would pick a banana because they smell good, they are bright and fun, plus they are yummy.

If you had to choose one other medium in which to display your “creativity”, what would that be, and why?

I would pick scrapbooking or card making because it is what I am second best at.

What advice do you have for other artists/crafters?

Always remember it takes a lot of time, patience and promotion to make it in the selling world. It may take a while, but don't give up hope!

Thanks for taking the time, Luna, to share your creativity and thoughts with everyone!  It is always fun to learn a bit more about the artist behind the creations.

Colorful floral printed scarf made by knitted chiffon with black charmeuse.

How did you decide what medium you wanted to work with?

With all my creations, I started with hand-stitching when I was little. I remember the first bag I made is a small little jeans handbag with a little patchwork. What aspect of creating your art/craft do you find the most enjoyable?

I try my best to create an accessory that has not existed, and hope customers would find something unique and represent them.

by Anat

First, take a moment to learn a bit more about this delightful artist and her creations.

What led you to start creating your art/craft?

Since I was a little child I always had a big attraction towards crafts.

I was drawing  on every possible thing, but never studied art. When I grew up, I started traveling all over the globe and was exposed to so many amazing things. In India and Nepal I sat with silversmiths, in Japan I studied Sumi-e ( an ancient japanese drawing technique), I used to do macrame jeweley, did some weaving and actually touched almost any crafting material that came through me. All the time I was drawing and painting as presents for friends until friends of friends wanted to buy my stuff, so I started selling them.

So I can say that maybe being born led me to start creating...

(CLICK on item's title above to learn more!)

How did you decide what medium you wanted to work with?

I tried almost everything but realized that I enjoy the most to sit in front of a blank paper and see it getting colored.

What aspect of creating your art/craft do you find the most enjoyable?

My art is not just the visual side of it, it also have a spiritual meaning. I get the meaning throughout drawing and that makes me study so much. Almost every print comes with a little card that has the story of the painting and what does it mean. I enjoy to learn and to share this knowledge with my customers.

FREE shipping for Christmas in July

(CLICK on item's title above to learn more!)

If you had to choose a fruit OR a vegetable to describe your art/craft, what would you choose and why?

Mango, definitely! Sweet with sour touch, juicy, exotic and makes you happy, satisfied and yet longing for more of it once you tasted it.

If you had to choose one other medium in which to display your "creativity", what would that be, and why?

I use my creativity in more mediums...I do mirror mosaic mandalas, wall painting, decorations for festivals and events, teaching mandala courses, playing the guitar, singing and more...Actually, the question for me has to be: if you had more hours in a day, what more would you do?

FREE shipping for Christmas in July
(CLICK on item's title above to learn more!)

What message, if any, do you want to convey with your art/craft?

I love it when art has a deep meaning and this is what I would like to pass on.

What advice do you have for other artists/crafters?

Not only for artists, but for everybody: follow your heart and leave your fears behind.

THANK YOU, Anat for sharing your beautiful, inspirational works of art and also for your thoughts!  You sounds like you have been blessed with many forms of creativity and it is wonderful that you share this with the world!
