FEATURED ETSY SHOP - STUCK TOGETHER - Magnets by Wendy Parker

JUST OWLS BOTTLE CAP MAGNET SET

by Wendy of STUCK TOGETHER

This is a set of six bottle cap magnets with images of adorable owls on each. Each is made with an image on glossy card stock adhered to a bottle cap with adhesive. The dome over the image is created with a Sun And Moon Resin Glaze Drop creating a protective surface over the paper.

You just have to pay a visit to Wendy's Etsy shop, STUCK TOGETHER!  You will find the most delightful, colorful magnets that can be put to so many uses, or just have them "stuck" about for color and fun!  As a "special" this week only, each purchase will receive a FREE gift!  First, take a moment to read Wendy's interview below to see what inspired her to get into creating her delightful magnets.

What led you to start creating your art/craft?

I have been a crafty person all of my life and have dabbled in this and that for years. I recently started a jewelry shop on etsy and was making a particular glass pendant for the invetory in that shop. I really enjoyed the process of working with the paper and the glass and decided to open shop number two, Stuck Together Magnets, soon thereafter. I really enjoy what I am doing with Stuck Together and get so excited everyday when it is time to work on new pieces.

How did you decide what medium you wanted to work with?

Really by accident. I just stumbled upon the love of magnets when I realized I enjoy working with glass and choosing the papers and images. It is all just so fun for me!

What aspect of creating your art/craft do you find the most enjoyable?

I would have to say finding and selecting the images for the magnets. Browsing the scrapbook paper in local craft stores is just about one of my favorite activities.

If you had to choose a fruit OR a vegetable, to describe your art/craft, what would you choose, and why?

I would have to say a strawberry, because this is SWEET!

If you had to choose one other medium in which to display your “creativity”, what would that be, and why?

I also make jewelry, so that is my backup creativity outlet. I also enjoy writing and painting.

What message, if any, do you want to convey with your art/craft?

Magnets are fun and functional and everyone loves them, even if they won’t admit it!

What advice do you have for other artists/crafters?

Work hard! If you want to be an crafter for a living, you have to give it everything you have got. This is a tough marketplace with a lot of talented people. Work hard, find a niche and be the best!

THANKS, Wendy, for a delightful interview and for sharing your fun, creative magnets with all of us.  I love them!! I can see why you enjoy creating them so much!
