What led you to start creating your art/craft?

I have a very early memory of sitting on my grandmother's kitchen floor making Barbie clothes with scraps of fabric. I was about 6 years old. I've been doing this my whole life, it's what I am.

How did you decide what medium you wanted to work with?

I dearly love fabric and I get great pleasure out of creating with it. When I see a piece of fabric that grabs me, I need to make something out of it.

What aspect of creating your art/craft do you find the most enjoyable?

Each step along the way has it's own kick. I like choosing a style, then finding just the right fabric and trim. Then many times I see a fabric I must have and it carries me along.

If you had to choose a fruit OR a vegetable to describe your work, what would you choose, and why?

The first fruit that came to mind was a cherry. I am in love with all of the retro cherry prints that are available now. They remind me of my grandmother's kitchen curtains! Secondly, A peach popped into my head. I look at a peach and I see a watercolor painting with a silky touch.

If you had to choose one other medium in which to display your "creativity", what would that be and why?

Only one other medium? I really enjoy painting and I'm an avid scrapbooker. Right now in my life I would choose paper. The colors, the textures and layers, just delicious!

What message, if any, do you want to convey with your art/craft?

My hope is that someone, or many someones, will enjoy whatever it is that I create.

What advice do you have for other artists/crafters?

The very best advice I would give anyone is to do what you love and never stop.
Thanks, Donna, for taking the time to share your adorable creations with us! One can tell that a lot of attention and love go into each of your outfits.
